I opposed Hellenistic invasions and luxuries in Rome. I also opposed the repeal of limited wealth to women in the Republic. When I met Scipio Africanus, I absolutely despised him because he was nearly everything I loathed: extravagance and wealth.

Yes, I did enjoy the fact you destroyed the unworthy city of Carthage, but I still despise you in the way that you are Hellenistic, and I am against the Hellenistic ways. I give thanks to you for destroying the greatest enemy that Rome could ever have.
